2017 is “Year of the Rooster”2017 is Year of the Rooster with Chinese New Year on 28 January. The Cairns and District Chinese Association Incorporated (CADCAI) are looking for events, performers and market stall holders to participate in the 2017 Celebrations. Stay tuned CNY program
- Performers: Cultural and professional performers are invited to join the Cairns Airport Chinese New Year Street Festival, to be held on the Esplanade on Saturday 4 February 2017.
- Market and Food Stalls: Market and food stallholders are invited to join the Cairns Airport Chinese New Year Street Festival, to be held in Grafton Street on Saturday 4 February.

Year of the Rooster2017 is Year of the Rooster with Chinese New Year on 28 January. For people born in the year of the monkey ( 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956,1968, 1980, 1992, 2004), 2017 is considered an auspicious year.
Chinese New Year 2017 celebrations will commence on 20 January and conclude on Saturday 20 February 2017. y. The signature event for the celebrations, The Cairns Airport Chinese New year Street Festival is to be held 4 – 9pm on Saturday 4 February in Grafton Street Cairns. This is a free family event.
